Stage Your Home To Look Its Best
Staging your home is like getting ready for a date - you want to look your best. It doesn't always mean spending a lot of money; often it's just a matter of common sense. Here are some key guidelines for making your home shine.
Take nearly everything off the kitchen and bathroom countertops. Think open surfaces.
Clean out bookshelves and closets to eliminate clutter. And, yes, that includes limiting the number of family photos.
Buy fresh towels for all bathrooms.
Get rid of all those plants!
Wash every window.
Make sure everything is fresh and clean, like laundry out of the dryer.
Do paint touch-ups where necessary.
Consider investing in new appliances if yours are showing wear and tear.
Try adding fresh pillows to brighten up drab seating. (Pier One and CB2 are great sources.)
Got too much stuff? Think about moving some of it into storage.
